Facilitator/advisor - novel group support for work distress - remote, part-time, licensed practitioner
About us
Our mission is to help people improve their lives profoundly, with exceptional immersive and empowering research backed support that meets them where they are. We do this in the here and now of life – supported by community that fosters growth and connection.
It’s never been easier to find support for our wellbeing, but the right support – research backed, whole person and personalized – for meaningful yet efficient progress – remains hard to find. This despite dedicated practitioners and powerful advances in research.
We’re a bootstrapped mission-driven startup trying to change this – not with ‘tech-enablement’, AI slapped on the status quo or sweatshops for practitioners – but with programs designed ground-up for support as it should be. Our early focus is on group based approaches and issues that affect women differentially and other underserved issues. We’ll eventually expand to the gamut of issues and 1:1 and hybrid models.
Our first solution is a group-based program for work related issues.
I’m Subarna, the founder. This work is inspired by my work in building behavioral health and healthcare products, some of which have reached millions -- and equally by the journeys of loved ones, practitioners I’ve had the privilege of working with, and of course my own lived experiences. I’ve seen how transformative support can be when it’s meaningfully designed, and I want such support to be the status quo. P.S - the em dashes are all me, not AI :)
Who we're looking for
Practitioners with experience in group therapy – to facilitate virtual group sessions for our program to help people navigate “difficult” or toxic situations at work – AND/OR – provide inputs for the same – working closely with me.
Work can fulfill core human needs and be a source of self-actualization – but work “distress” from a range of situations and behaviors, can hurt mental and physical health, causing anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma and worse. Women, marginalized groups, and the neurodivergent, are some of the worst hit. People white-knuckle it quietly – don’t know where to go or what to do – and when they do seek support, it can be hit or miss. This program exists to make exceptional support for such situations accessible to those who need it, and easy and intuitive for practitioners to provide.
We’re in the early stages –– this role could eventually expand to – operations, partnerships, building a global community of practitioners etc. based on interest and fit.
This is a unique opportunity to build something from inception that shifts the paradigm.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk:
- You're a Master's or Doctoral-level therapist, or other clinical practitioner, ideally licensed to practice in California but if not, don't let that stop you from applying.
- You’re experienced in group therapy or group-based support. You understand the nuances of groups and care deeply about expanding their reach. You know how to put people at ease and engage them meaningfully in virtual group sessions.
- You practice evidence-based modalities with an integrative approach, stay current with research, and are energized by new ways to help people. Ideally, you bring expertise in trauma-specific, gender-responsive, neuro-affirming and culturally responsive care.
- Ideally you’ve supported clients with work related stress and trauma – you know that issues are multifaceted and complex, highly situational and with diverse risk factors. You appreciate the need for support that’s nuanced and grounded in evidence-base, realities and lived experience.
- To engage hands-on and facilitate groups. You’re organized and reliable. You have high standards, and can give and receive constructive feedback. You can work from first principles, deal with the unglamorous but necessary details, and be flexible and pragmatic while staying responsible. You’re proficient in virtual support for groups and Zoom, Google Workspace and commonly used digital tools.
- You’re aware that practitioners face systemic challenges, and that tech has yet to “revolutionize” behavioral health. But you’re still excited about improving support for the greater good and for practitioners – by focusing on the right problems, tapping research and design thoughtfully, and playing the long game.
If this resonates, we’d love to hear from you and share more.
If you’re really drawn to this but your profile’s not a perfect fit, we encourage you to apply.
You can also apply if you’d prefer to engage as an advisor.
